I agree. I jumped on the hi-viz badwganon not long after I started riding. I am the rarest of birds, a hi-viz wearer on a Harley-Davidson. I have two hi-viz yellow jackets in a mesh textile material. The trade off in buying leather is that it’s more protective in a fall, but you lose the visibility. I counter this by wearing a white helmet, which according to studies I’ve read, is the optimum in visibility. I took the Motorcycle Safety Foundation course to get my license. In addition to riding skills, they emphasize riding strategies that proactively reduce your chances of a collision.

Well, I think the boundary is that anailms killed for consumption are usually killed quickly and humanely.As to why society would make animal abuse illegal, well, we recognize that they feel pain, and as humans inflicing unneccessary suffering on any creature is frowned upon generally. Or at least, it is more now than it used to be. I think its true, generally, that people who like inflicting pain on anailms are desensitized as well to inflicting pain on humans. Most serial killers start out by abusing anailms.As for the lobster vs cow, I see both methods as equally painless. We do tend to be more concerned about warm furry critters than cold-blooded ones.

The decision is first a legal one. If Mexican law bars alenis carrying and/or using guns without Mexican permission, then we do not do it. If we find that unacceptable, we exit. If we persist in our way’ and Mexicans get hurt, the Mexican government may be required to arrest, try, and punish our agents as criminals. The terms of our co-operation should be agreed before we step in. It does not matter how certain we are that we know and have the right way to do it. Our neighbors all over the world are nervous about our attitudes toward violent actions in their countries. Presently, they see the case of a US contractor killing two Pakistanis under uncertain circumstances. Are you ready to allow Mexican operatives to roam this country in search of their perps and to forgive any mistakes when US citizens get hurt?

Binnen het kringloopkompas mis ik een bediooelrng van de bodemlevenkwaliteit en biodiversiteit van bodemleven. Het zou kunnen dat dit beter hoort bij biodiversiteit, maar daar lijkt het alleen te gaan over biodiversiteit boven de grond en niet in de grond. Dat biodiversiteit in de grond belangrijk is mag blijken uit het volgende: Als niet omgezette drijfmest wordt geinjecteerd onstaan anaerobe verrottingshaarden in de grond. Het huidige onderzoek naar bodemleven maakt geen onderscheid naar type bacterie of schimmel en laat derhalve geen verandering zien in aantallen bacterien of schimmels. Maar het maakt nogal wat uit of je een bacterie hebt die melkzuur maakt of een die de lijkengiften putrescine en kadaverine produceert of een schimmel die vitamines produceert of fosfaat vrijmaakt ten opzichte van een schimmel die mitotoxinen produceert. Juist onder anaerobe omstandigheden krijg je zulke negatieve ontwikkelingen van het bodemleven. In een bodem met een rijk bodemleven, een bodem met een grote diversiteit aan bodemleven, wat voornamelijk aeroob werkt , krijg je omstandigheden die ik omschrijf als vallend onder een andere wet, namelijk de wet van de toenemende meeropbrengsten. Op ons bedrijf zie je dan dat een negatieve fosfaat balans dan geen probleem meer is. Wij hebben een fosfaat benutting van meer dan 150% en toch neemt het PAL getal in onze grond toe en wel met 7,5 punten in 4 jaar tijd. Dit kan alleen als het bodemleven goed functioneerd. Het zou goed zijn als hier parameters voor worden ontwikkeld en als dit meegenomen wordt in het kringloopkompas.
